Meet the Developers of NaWeHub Business Support App!

Kisimi Kayleemasa Kamara

Kisimi Kayleemasa Kamara, the brain behind the NaWeHub idea, believes that problem-solving is the most critical skill for entrepreneurs seeking success. Holding a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Software Engineering, he is the founder and Chief Innovation Officer of eWomen SL. Kisimi also lectures at the University of Makeni, where he serves as Deputy Head of the Computer Science Department and Director of the Centre for Innovation. Inspired by his experience mentoring startups, he developed NaWeHub to centralize resources like funding, templates, training, and an AI-powered business game. The app reflects his commitment to helping entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone build resilience, register their businesses, and turn local challenges into lasting opportunities.

Mohammad Shakil Kazi

Mohammad Shakil Kazi, a visionary European entrepreneur and proprietor of Bismillah, is passionate about nurturing talent across Africa, especially in Sierra Leone. Believing in the untapped potential of young minds, he set out to support local talent development in Software Engineering. His connection to Sierra Leone began through SIPID, an organization founded by a Sierra Leonean in Italy. It was through SIPID that Kisimi Kayleemasa Kamara met Mohammad to recruit local engineers for Kazi’s company. When Kisimi conceived the NaWeHub app—created to empower and transform entrepreneurs—he immediately reached out to Mohammad to supervise and technically guide the project. Kazi’s mentorship and support became essential throughout the app’s development journey.

Mohamed James Kamara

He is the local Senior Software Engineer hired by eWomen SL to lead the development of the NaWeHub App. His recruitment followed advice from Mohammad S. Kazi, the project’s technical supervisor, who emphasized the need for a skilled local engineer to ensure long-term maintenance and sustainability. Mohamed James, a graduate of Limkokwing University—one of Sierra Leone’s top technology institutions—was selected for his strong background in software development and problem-solving. Throughout the development process, he demonstrated exceptional resilience, innovation, and leadership. His ability to translate complex requirements into practical digital solutions made him an invaluable asset, ensuring that NaWeHub is both technically sound and useful.

SheCodes

SheCodes is a software development startup led, managed, and operated entirely by three talented young women—Zainab, Assanatu, and Emilia—who are Computer Science students at the University of Makeni. The idea for SheCodes was initiated by Kisimi Kayleemasa Kamara, their lecturer and mentor, who recognized their passion and potential in programming. He encouraged them to form a women-led tech team to break gender barriers in the software industry. Their active involvement in the development of the NaWeHub app provides them with a real-world opportunity to enhance their skills and confidence. SheCodes stands as a powerful example that young women in Sierra Leone can lead and excel in the fast-evolving world of technology.

EU, UNDP and The Public

The development of the NaWeHub app has greatly benefited from the valuable feedback provided by the United nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the wider public, both of whom served as essential partners throughout the process. Their insights helped shape the app’s features, ensuring it responds to the real needs of entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone. UNDP’s commitment to inclusive innovation and local empowerment played a key role in guiding the app’s direction. Most importantly, without the generous funding support from the European Union (EU) and UNDP, the creation and implementation of NaWeHub would not have been possible. Their partnership continues to be instrumental in turning this innovative vision into a practical tool for business growth..

KADIATU HABIATU SESAY

Fast Bite Innovations (FBI)

Alicious Kangoma is a natural-born cook who turned his passion for cooking into a business. Although he had a registered sole proprietorship, his operations were limited to his home and client visits. His long-held dream was to formalize and grow his business sustainably. When he learned about the EU-UNDP funded project, he seized the opportunity, actively participating in all bootcamps and trainings.

With support from eWomen, he rebranded and formally registered his business as Fast Bite Innovations (FBI) -a vibrant fast food and delivery service. eWomen not only hired him to cater for all project events but also provided seed capital to boost his growth. To further support his journey, eWomen rented a business space and offered it to him as a temporary workspace until he becomes self-sufficient enough to secure his own. Today, Alicious is on a promising path toward building a brand.

AgroInnovations (AI)

Denis Yaraba Kargbo was born in a remote village near Makeni to poor parents and began farming at a young age. Determined to build a better life, he moved to Makeni with dreams of attending university. To survive, he learned tailoring and earned small income until he passed his university entrance exams and gained admission to Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology to study Agriculture—a field that reflects his roots. With support from eWomen, Denis received a scholarship and affectionately refers to the CEO and CIO of eWomen as “Mummy” and “Daddy.” When the EU-UNDP project launched, Denis eagerly embraced the opportunity to explore agri-entrepreneurship. He established AgroInnovations, a venture focused on using technology to improve agricultural productivity. His interests include greenhouses, organic manure from kitchen waste, and other sustainable farming innovations. Denis is steadily growing into a promising agricultural entrepreneur.
